I'm not angry, just outspoken

Ok Brandi, I don’t care if you like the over processed gross GBC from all cans. That’s bullshit. You’ve never had mine. It’s rich, creamy, delicious, and has just the right amount of cayenne pepper to make it interesting. I dare you to make it!

2 lbs. (I think. I filled the plastic bag at the grocery store) fresh green beans, trimmed and halved

1 large onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, chopped

1/2 pound mushrooms, half sliced, half chopped

1/2 cup butter

salt and pepper to taste

1/2* cup flour

2 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream

2 tbs* Worcestershire sauce

1/2* tsp cayenne pepper

1 large can fried onions

  1. Steam green beans in large pot for 10 minutes while sauce cooks. After 10 minutes, turn off heat and allow beans to continue cooking until they get nice and soft.
  2. In large pan, melt butter and add onions, garlic, mushrooms, salt, and pepper. Cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes to allow onions and garlic to soften and caramelize.
  3. Add flour and increase heat to medium-high. Slowly add cream and stir until all of the flour is combined. Reduce heat and add cayenne pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Cook over medium heat until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
  4. Put cooked green beans into large baking dish. Pour onion mixture over the green beans and stir gently. Sprinkle half of the onions on top and stir very gently. Sprinkle the other half of the onions on green beans, and cook uncovered in a 350 degree oven until hot and bubbly and browned on top, about 30-40 minutes.

* Approximate measurements- use less and add more to taste. I don’t measure shit. You know this.
